Манай орон газрын доорхи эрдэс баялгаараа баян. Өнөөдрийн байдлаар 6000 гаруй ашигт малтмал, эрдэс чулуулаг бүртгэгдээд байна. Ер нь газрын ховор элемент нь химийн бүтцээсээ шалтгаалан та бидний өдөр тутмын хэрэглээ болох дэвтэр, зай, зоос, ээмэг, чихэвч, нүүрний энгэсэг, уруулын будаг, үсний хавчаар, түлхүүр, гэрэл чийдэн, компьютер, чүдэнз, эмэнд ашиглагддаг байна.

Дашрамд дурцахад Монголын геологичид дэлхийн геологийн шинжлэх ухаанд хоёр эрдэс, нэг чулуулаг шинээр бүртгүүлсэн байна.
